Dirty Sound System / Dirty Label Feature on Resonance FM

On Wednesday Dec 17th 8pm (GMT) I'm doing a radio show on the DIRTY Collective on Resonance 104.4FM.
I'll be featuring tracks from the new compilation (pictured above), earlier edits, and the brand new track from Discodeine, and we'll be chatting to label man Guillaume Sorge. The interview will be broadcast in French (thanks to David from Rockfort), but also pasted up here in English along with the show soon after the 17th. I'm looking forward to it as I've admired DIRTY's work for sometime now. Yay! You can buy the new comp here.

A teeny bit exciting...

....Seeing Ultravox live for the first time.
I've recently moved house so don't have the internet at the moment (thanks to BT, and their bureaucratic ways), so I missed out on all the news about Ultravox reforming. Then while reading the Guardian on Sat I saw a small advertisement on said reunion. I almost had a turn. So I'm armed with tickets for the gig at Hammersmith in April and very much looking forward to it.
I did think a reunion could've perhaps involved both Foxx / Ure. A little too much to ask perhaps.

Also I've got a couple of shows in production for Resonance. One on Jennifer Herrema and her band RTX to be broadcast on Wed 26 November. And one on the website / label Alainfinkelkrautrock which is due to be broadcast On Dec 1. Stay tuned I guess.

I was lucky enough to see Grace Jones last week at Massive Attack's Meltdown, and I have to say, that it was one of the best gigs I've ever been to. This is her new single, Corporate Cannibal. Can't wait for the official release, as the bottom end is immense!

Klaus Dinger R.I.P

I recently learned that Klaus Dinger passed away on March 21 2008. Best known for his motorik drumming style, and forming Krautrock greats Neu!, the band were hugely influential on musicians from Ultravox to Sonic Youth to Fujiya & Miyagi, and I'm sure many more to come.
